Cause

The QuickBooks Web Connector is unable to write to the log file because it has become damaged or unavailable.

Solution

1. If you have not yet connected your third-party application to the Web Connector, you will need to do that first to ensure that your data is stored and saved properly.

2. If you have already connected your third-party application to the Web Connector and it was previously functioning as expected, the file may have been moved or damaged. To resolve the issue:

    • Confirm that your Log file is stored in the directory that Web Connector is browsing. You can review the exact steps to find your Log file here.
    • If your Log file is stored in the location but is no longer readable, confirm that permissions are enabled. You can review the exact steps to update your permissions here.
    • If you have confirmed that the Log file is in the correct location and the permissions are correct, then your file may be damaged. It is recommended that you save your old Log file under a new name and allow Web Connector to create a new Log file.

First, navigate in Windows Explorer to the QWCLog file and right-click to see the Rename option

Give your existing Log file a new name (in this example, we named it "QWCLogOLD")

After re-opening Web Connector and starting the program, it will create a new QWCLog file in the same location. You will see it next to your previous file "QWCLogOLD" in the folder.
